PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer which enables a mounting member such as an exterior wall face material and furring strips to be firmly and easily mounted on a substrate via a heat-insulating material made of a foamed-resin heat-insulating material, an inorganic fiber-based heat-insulating material, etc. SOLUTION: In a structure for mounting the mounting member via the heat-insulating material, the foamed resin-based or fiber-based heat-insulating material is interposed between the mounting member and the mounting substrate; and the mounting member is fixed to the substrate via the heat-insulating material by a fastening implement. The spacer 1 for use in the structure for mounting the mounting member via the heat-insulating material maintains the spacing between the mounting member and the substrate by resisting the fastening of the fastening implement. The spacer 1 includes a piece-like base plate 2 with a hole through which the fastening implement can pass, and a leg 3 which is protruded from the base plate 2 and inserted into the heat-insulating material 11 so as to maintain the spacing between the mounting member and the substrate.
