<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface modified sorbent which removes sulfur, and vanadium from a hydrocarbon fuel. <P>SOLUTION: A sorbent composition includes an adsorbent support; and a metal component comprising a transition metal, wherein the metal component is impregnated on a surface of the adsorbent support. The content of the adsorbent support, and the metal component are about 20 to about 99.9 wt.%, and about 0.1 to about 80 wt.%, respectively, based on the weight of the sorbent composition. The surface of the adsorbent support has been chemically modified to comprise functional groups including a halo, a phenyl-, a cyano-, an alkyl-, an alkenyl-, an aryl-, an alkoxy-, a silanol-, a chlor-functional groups, and a combination thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
