ADMISSION CONTROL FOR A SET OF HETEROGENEOUS ACCESS TECHNOLOGIES

The invention relates to a method for controlling admission (CAC_L3) for the transmission of a data stream via a gateway having a set of heterogeneous access technologies and sharing a mutual transport network (WAN), the gateway having admission controllers (CA(1)..CA(N), CA_M) associated with the access technologies, respectively. The method comprises the steps of: analyzing an access request to a service from a device connected to the gateway, the request being associated with one access technology from among the set of heterogeneous access technologies; estimating the available access resources (R_CAC2) between the device and the gateway depending on the access technology; estimating the available transport resources (RT_d) over the mutual transport network; and determining a response to the request on the basis of the comparison between the available transport resources and the necessary transport resources (RT_n) predetermined from the available access resources.
