PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device capable of effectively preventing generation of moire in an output image even when dither processing is executed by using an existent output screen.

SOLUTION: A printer controller as the image processing device for executing dither processing for printing input image data determines whether or not interference between a pattern of a dot area included in the input image data and a pattern of an output screen to be used for the dither processing exists or not (S103), and executes smoothing processing for the dot area in which the existence of interference is determined (S106, S107).
