PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slat device capable of setting an ideal angle of slat accurately or setting an ideal angle of slat by coping with various demands and change of environment. SOLUTION: This slat device has a plurality of slats 1 arranged along the vertical direction and capable of swinging in the interlocking relationship and being freely opened or closed and a control part 2 for setting an angleθof a plurality of slats 1 to shield or take in direct sunlight freely in accordance with the angleθof the slats. The control part 2 has a mode for setting the angleθof the slat based on altitudeϕof the sun, slat width (b), slat pitch (p), and slat thickness (t) to make the angleθof the slat maximum while shielding direct sunlight by the slats 1.
