ARRAYED WAVEGUIDE GRATING AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: An arrayed waveguide grating and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the productivity by forming a fan out device in which gaps between pitches are expanded. CONSTITUTION: A first arrayed waveguide grating element includes input and output waveguides without the input-output of optical-fiber pitches, an input side flat waveguide, an output side waveguide, and an arrayed waveguide. Fan out elements(210) are arranged on the end of the input and the output waveguides of the first arrayed waveguide grating element. The input and the output waveguides are vertically diced.
