PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric sensor, reducing the influence of interference between a plurality of photoelectric sensors operating asynchronously. SOLUTION: In projecting light from a light projection part over a predetermined number n of times within a fixed detection period T and determining the presence/absence of a detection target object from the quantity of light received at a light receiving part within the fixed period T, a light projection pattern for regulating the n-times of light projection timing within the fixed period T is set so that the interference with another photoelectric sensor is a predetermined number of time or less, and after the quantity of light received for n-times is subjected to limiting, a moving-average value thereof is obtained to thereby reduce the influence of interference.
