<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a total movable load detecting device for a passenger conveyor for always accurately detecting the total movable load of the whole of a passenger conveyor and for displaying the detected total movable load in a gateway. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This total movable load detecting device for a passenger conveyor includes: steps 1 for a passenger conveyor, which are respectively structured of each part of a step tread 2, a riser 3, a pair of a right and a left brackets 4, a support metal 5 and a following roller 6; vibration control rubbers 7 respectively arranged in a front end and a rear end of the head of each bracket to support a movable load to be applied onto the step tread; separate movable load detecting devices 8 for detecting a movable load applied to each step; and a control device for a passenger conveyor for receiving the movable load data of each step transmitted from the separate movable load detecting device, computing the total movable load of the passenger conveyor by adding the received movable load data and controlling operation of the passenger conveyor based on a result of the computing.
