摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling structure for a permanent-magnet rotary electric machine that is improved so as to effectively cool permanent magnets embedded into a rotor core without increasing the size of the rotary electric machine. SOLUTION: The permanent-magnet rotary electric machine has a stator 2, a rotor 3, a rotary shaft 4 respectively internally mounted to a frame 1. The rotary electric machine is formed into an embedded magnet structure in which each permanent magnet 3b corresponding to a main magnetic-pole of the rotor 3 is embedded into an area around a rotor core 3a. Each heat pipe 6 is laid near each permanent magnet 3b while axially penetrating through the rotor core 3a. Both ends of each heat pipe 6 are extracted to the sides of the rotor core 3a, and then, each heat-dissipating fin 6a is provided on each extracted end. By such a configuration, heat generated by eddy-current loss of each permanent magnet 3b during operation of the rotary electric machine is transferred to each heat pipe 6 so as to dissipate the heat to the periphery from each heat-dissipating fin 6a, thereby effectively cooling each permanent magnet.
