摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image enlargement method and device using an edge enhancement method which provides high quality and is free from a pseudo contour, while suppressing increase in a circuit scale and power consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The value of an interpolation pixel in a position after enlargement is calculated by calculating the distances between the position of an original image corresponding to the position of the interpolation pixel after enlargement and four peripheral pixels by bilinear method to determine a weighting. Contour values of the four peripheral pixels used for the calculation of the interpolation pixel are determined, and whether at least one of the contour values of the four peripheral pixels exceeds a threshold is determined. When at least of the contour values exceeds the threshold as the decision results, the weighting of the four peripheral pixels determined by the bilinear method is changed, thereby edge enhancement of the interpolation pixel in the position after enlargement is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
