<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of reducing deterioration of productivity by stably feeding sheets without enlarging a device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A control part of the printing device 1 determines that insufficient upward movement of a paper feeding tray 21 occurs when an upper limit sensor 24 is turned off even if a paper feeding tray elevating motor 23 is driven for a defined time in an upper limit positioning action for moving the paper feeding tray 21 upward after picking up the paper from the paper feeding tray 21 until the upper limit sensor 24 detects a top face of the paper at a predetermined height and is turned on; and executes a paper feeding pressure adjustment retrying action for increasing a torque of the paper feeding tray elevating motor 23 and driven the motor after a next paper is picked up, and moving the paper feeding tray 21 upward until the upper limit sensor 24 is turned on when it is determined that insufficient upward movement continuously occurs to a predetermined number of papers sequentially picked up from the paper feeding tray 21.
