<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the consistent affixing and sealed state of an affixed portion of a barrel part of a paper cup having barrier properties without any whitening of a surface resin layer when the cup is formed, and with its outermost surface being formed of paper. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A paper cup having the barrier properties has an outermost surface of a paper surface, and an inner sealant layer 8 formed of a polyethylene, and an affixed portion with an outer end 18 of a barrel member blank 3 consisting of a laminate sheet having the barrier properties being overlapped on an inner end 16. An edge protector tape 2 having the barrier properties is affixed to the inner end 16 so as to cover it in a U-shape to prevent exposure of an end face 17. The surface treatment for improving the joinability of both members is executed on any one of a surface of at least cup inner surface side of the tape 2 and a surface of the inner end 18 of the barrel member blank 3 in contact therewith.
