<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a configuration efficiently achieving increase of life of a photoreceptor is demanded while suppressing deterioration of image quality because there exists a problem that although conventionally a method of emitting neutralizing light to the photoreceptor after transfer is widely used to remove residual charge on the photoreceptor since image deterioration is caused by the charge remaining on the photoreceptor after transfer, irradiation of the neutralizing light causes optical fatigue of the photoreceptor, so that the deteriorated photoreceptor is worn out by friction etc. with a cleaner blade, thereby shortening the life of the photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: A film thickness of the photoreceptor is detected, and film thickness decrement is obtained. The neutralizing light with reduced light quantity is emitted to the photoreceptor according to the obtained film thickness decrement. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
