PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-voltage discharge lamp and the like that are easily positioned and reduced in the occurrence of cracks due to thermal expansion in fritless sealing. SOLUTION: The high-voltage discharge lamp includes: lead-in conductors 24a, 24b; sealing portions 25, 25; bulging portions 26, 26 welded to the lead-in conductors 24a, 24b and the sealing portions 25, 25, respectively, and having larger diameter than the lead-in conductors 24a, 24b and the sealing portions 25, 25; small-diameter tubes 12a, 12b; conductors 23a, 23b that are sealed in the small-diameter tubes 12a, 12b, respectively, together with the sealing portions 25, 25 and the bulging portions 26, 26 by fusing end portions of the small-diameter tubes 12a, 12b; and a discharge medium enclosed in the discharge vessel. Since the bulging portions 26, 26 are sealed in the small-diameter tube 12a, 12b together with the sealing portions 25, 25, positioning in the fritless sealing can be done using the bulging portion 26 and the occurrence of cracks due to thermal expansion difference starting from a welding interface can be reduced.
