PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition having a low heat build-up temperature, a long scorch time, and high tensile strength. SOLUTION: Surface treated calcium carbonate is obtained by treating the surface of calcium carbonate with at least one amine selected from a secondary aliphatic amine and a tertiary aliphatic amine, and at least one organic acid selected from fatty acids and resin acids.
