<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavator in which a lifting wire can be easily attached to an earth auger disposed under the upper frame of a frame for increasing a construction efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This excavator includes a base machine, a gantry frame 20 on which an upper frame 23 is supported by columns, a lifting wire 30 extending through the opening 23a of the upper frame 23, a hook 40 attached to the lifting wire 30, and the earth auger supported by the hook 40. The lifting wire 30 is wrapped around a base side pulley attached to an arm and a hook side pulley provided to the hook. A first guide member 81 for guiding the lifting wire 30 toward a hook side pulley group 43 and a second guide member 85 for guiding the lifting wire 30 toward a base side pulley group are disposed above the opening 23a of the upper frame 23.
