An optical channel monitor comprises a wavelength demultiplexer for demultiplexing inputted signal light, a plurality of photodetectors which are arranged on the demultiplexing side of the wavelength demultiplexer and receive the light of a wider wavelength band than the wavelength band of the signal light, and a calculator for calculating the level of the signal light of each of the wavelengths by means of linear compensation on the basis of the reception level of the light within the wavelength band of the signal light and the reception level of the light having the wavelength outside the wavelength band of the signal light in the plurality of photodetectors.
