A method for producing and distributing a child's toy encloses an expandable foam composition in a pliable fabric skin (40, 50). The toy is compressed into a deflated configuration to form an inflatable toy and is shipped to a selected destination. The inflatable toy is delivered to a distributor and sold to an end user. The end user activates the foam to inflate the toy.
