There is described a method of transmitting a broadcasting signal, the method comprising: encoding Physical Layer Pipe, PLP, data bits by a forward error correction, FEC, scheme; mapping the encoded PLP data bits into PLP data symbols; building a signal frame including a P1 preamble symbol, P2 preamble symbols and the PLP data symbols, wherein the P1 preamble symbol includes information of guard interval and the P2 preamble symbols include Layer-1, L1, signaling data including said information of guard interval ; frequency-interleaving the signal frame; and modulating the frequency-interleaved signal frame by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM, method. The invention also relates to a corresponding apparatus for carrying out the method, and to inter-related method and apparatus for receiving a broadcasting signal.
