<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid ink printer for assuring a solid ink to melt at the speed suitable for keeping the appropriate level of a meltable ink in a feeding reservoir. <P>SOLUTION: A solid ink melting apparatus used for the solid ink printer includes a housing having an opening for receiving the solid ink, the first rotary member attached in the housing, a heater for heating the first rotary member up to the melting temperature of the solid ink, and a motor which is connected to the first rotary member and makes the rotary member rotated in the housing so that the solid ink may be sheared when the solid ink is molten by the heated rotary member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
