<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element capable of suppressing rapid luminance deterioration at the initial stage of driving the organic electroluminescent element. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing the organic electroluminescent element having one or more organic layers between a first electrode and a second electrode, one or more organic layers are formed on the first electrode directly or through the other layer, a second electrode is formed on the organic layer, sealing treatment is then applied, and after that, an aging period during which no energizing or no heating is performed for 12 hours or longer at 0-40°C is provided.
