PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a thin polarizer and a polarizing plate thereof are provided to prevent a polarizer from being easily damaged and to maintain optical characteristics. CONSTITUTION: A polyvinal alcoholometer film is wet-extended with a traverse extension ratio which is 1.3 or 1.9 times towards a horizontal direction. The wet-extended polyvinyl alcohol film is dry-extended with a longitudinal extension ration which is 5 or 7.2 times towards a longitudinal direction.
