<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining if an individual as one of main complications of joint replacement surgery using an artificial joint is infected by a staphylococcus bacterium. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes determining if antibodies directed against at least two proteins or their fragments containing a sequence (homology of 80% or higher) selected from the group consisting of sequence number 2, sequence number 4 and sequence number 6, are present in a biological sample of the individual, and thus deducing that the individual is infected by a staphylococcus bacterium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
