<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily remotely control an electrical appliance registered beforehand with settings that make the user feel comfortable. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A communication terminal 1 includes: a positional information detecting section 14 for detecting positional information of the terminal's own; a motion detecting section 19 for detecting the specific motion of a user who utilizes the communication terminal 1; and an ambient environment detecting section 18 for detecting information on an environment around the communication terminal. Furthermore, the communication terminal 1 includes: a radio communication section 13 for exchanging information with a device control server which controls an electrical appliance registered beforehand; and a control section 11. When the motion detecting section 19 detects the specific motion of the user, the control section 11 causes the ambient environment detecting section 18 to detect the information on the environment around the terminal itself and causes the radio communication section 13 to transmit the positional information and the information on the ambient environment. When a position of the communication terminal 1 specified by the positional information is included within a control effective range representing the inside of a range wherein the electrical appliance can be effectively controlled, the control section 11 causes the device control server to control the electrical appliance.
