PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for organic electroluminescent element for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element having a low drive voltage and sufficient service life by forming a luminescent layer of the organic electroluminescent element by a wet film formation method. SOLUTION: This composition for organic electroluminescent element is used for forming a luminescent layer of the organic electroluminescent element, containing a charge transport material and a solvent. In the composition for organic electroluminescent element, the charge transport material contains a compound having a pyrene skeleton and an anthracene skeleton in each molecule, and the molar ratio of the pyrene skeletons to the anthracene skeletons possessed by the compound having the pyrene skeletons and the anthracene skeletons in the composition is 35:65-65:35.
