<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether a data file is a necessary data file by capturing only attribute data first when capturing the data file. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An MPU 21 of a personal computer 2 prepares an obtained management table 601 including a folder name, a file name, date and time at which image data is photographed, and a file size of the image data about each image data recorded in a recorder 22, and records the table into the recorder 22. When the personal computer 2 captures an image data file from an electronic still camera 1, the electronic still camera 1 sends only attribute data first, and the MPU 21 of the personal computer 2 determines whether data of the management table 601 coincides with the attribute data obtained from the electronic still camera 1. When the MPU 21 determines that the data coincides, the electronic still camera 1 does not send the image data file to the personal computer 2, and when the MPU 21 does not determine that the data coincides, the electronic still camera 1 sends the image data file to the personal computer 2.
