<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diameter-enlarging retention member which, even when a cold shrinkable tube has a strong shrinking force, can endure the shrinking force through the engagement of uneven core strings, and to provide a cold shrinkable tube unit using the diameter-enlarging retention member. <P>SOLUTION: The core string 10 of the diameter-enlarging retention member 1 includes the front face 21, rear face 22, first side face 31, second side face 32, projected part 41, and recessed part 42.
