PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rapidly measure the distance to a body with desired accuracy by a mobile stereo system. SOLUTION: An obstacle detector 123 measures the distance to an obstacle by a mobile stereo system by using images taken at different positions by an imaging part 111. Based on the distance to the obstacle measured by the obstacle detector 123, a necessary moving amount setter 141 sets a necessary moving amount which is the distance from an imaging position of an image taken later of the two images used for measurement to an imaging position of an image used for next measurement.
