PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To photograph an object automatically when there is not any undesired object within a photographing angle of view. SOLUTION: An image pickup device includes an imaging section, a determination section and a photographing control section. For example, the imaging section includes an imaging element to generate image data. The determination section receives the image data successively to determine whether any specific object exists within the photographing angle of view or not. The photographing control section photographs an object automatically when it is determined by the determination section that no specific object exists within the photographing angle of view.
