PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus including a touch panel and a finder allowing a user to look thereinto, and preventing malfunction by input from the touch panel by the user. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an imaging means; a display means to display an image picked up by the imaging means; a touch panel arranged on the display means for accepting an instruction from a user; a finder allowing the user to look thereinto; a detection means to detect that the user looks into the finder; and a control means to execute control to invalidate the instruction from the user to the touch panel when it is detected by the detection means that the user looks into the finder.
