<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new incineration method, excellent in heat efficiency compared with the conventional technique, for effectively utilizing thermal energy of an enormous amount of wet gas generated by cooling/cleaning high-temperature gas from a waste liquid combustion furnace. <P>SOLUTION: In a waste combustion power generating method, waste is supplied to the combustion furnace 1 and is burned, combustion gas of the combustion furnace 1 is blown off into a solution cooling tank 4 storing cooling solution liquid, and combustion exhaust gas and the cooling solution liquid are made to directly contact each other to generate the wet gas. The wet gas G is supplied to a counterflow-type heat recovery tower 30 having a back pressure means 22 on its rear stage, an inlet of the wet gas at the lower part, and an inlet of a heat recovery medium to be heated at the upper part for making the wet gas and the medium contact each other by counterflow.
