PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding machine hard to produce chipping when grinding to chamfer the inside and/or outside peripheries of a work. SOLUTION: This is a grinding machine for a magnetic recording disk base to grind the inner and/or outer peripheries of the work 10 by using a grinding wheel. For example, the inner periphery grinding wheel 22 has grinding sections 76, 78, including first grinding sections 76a, 78a to grind the inner surfaces; and second grinding sections 76b, 78b, continuously provided respectively above and below the first grinding sections 76a, 78a and third grinding sections 76c, 78c, and further, the surfaces of the second grinding sections 76b, 78b and the third grinding sections 76c, 78c are formed in recessed shape.
