<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems of the production of surplus soil in columnar soil improvement, the management of the quality of improved soil, and an increase in the cost of a steel pipe pile. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This apparatus A for constructing a concrete pile in which a diameter-enlarged portion 5 is fitted to a press-in head 2 is pushed into the ground B so as to form a hole 10. Freshly-mixed concrete 11 is charged into the hole 10, the press-in head 2 reaches a predetermined depth; and after that, a rod 1 is pulled up. The diameter-enlarged portion 5 fitted to an outer periphery of the press-in head 2 is pulled up later than the press-in head 2; and the ready-mixed concrete 11 is made to pass through a fitting hole 6 of the diameter-enlarged portion 5 from the outer periphery of the press-in head 2.
