<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lipase inhibitor that can be added to food, drink, cosmetics, perfumes or animal feed by using a highly safe natural material that has an extensive experience of use in human, is stably available in large amounts and is excellent in flavor. <P>SOLUTION: The lipase inhibitor includes vanilla beans, particularly those subjected to a curing treatment, as an active ingredient. As the active ingredient, the lipase inhibitor includes an extract obtained by extracting the vanilla beans with water or a water-containing organic solvent.
