PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compute the degree of similarity between two pieces of data composed of a plurality of attributes, without considering the differences in kind of the attribute values of the individual attributes. SOLUTION: A discretization rule storage device 30 stores a rule for discretization of real number values and a rule for discretization of symbol values. A discretization device 20 converts each attribute of vehicle condition data acquired from ECUs 10 and 11 into a discrete value, according to the real-number value discretization rule if the attribute is a real number value, and converts the attribute into a discrete value according to the symbol value discretization rule if it is a symbol value. A storage device for a similarity degree computation method stores a similarity degree computation method. A similarity degree computation device computes the similarity degree between the pieces of the vehicle condition data, based on the discrete value of each attribute according to the similarity degree computation method.
