<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a switching loss of a switching power supply device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The switching power supply device includes: a charging circuit in which a DC power supply, a first reactor L1, a first diode D1 having an anode connected to the first reactor, a smoothing capacitor Cd, and the ground are connected in series; and a first switching element Sm provided between the anode of the first diode and the ground, and further includes: a second diode D2 having the anode connected to the first reactor and a cathode connected to the first switching element; an auxiliary circuit which is connected to the first switching element in parallel and in which a second reactor Lr, a first capacitor Cr, a third diode Da having an anode connected to a first capacitor, and a second switching element Sa are connected in series: a fourth diode D4 which is connected to a series connection between the third diode and the second switching element in parallel and has the cathode connected to the anode of the third diode; a second capacitor Cm connected to the first switching element in parallel; and a fifth diode Dm having the cathode connected to a higher potential side of the first switching element.
