<p>An audio-visual communication apparatus which eliminates deviations in system clocks without causing audio-visual discomfort to a user. The audio-visual communication apparatus is provided with: a transmission-reception unit (106/108) which transmits and receives video and audio through a network; a PTS correction timing determining unit (111) which, based on the contents of audio transmitted by the transmission-reception unit or video or audio received by the transmission-reception unit, determines the timing for updating the correction amount of the PTS in the received video or audio; a PTS correction unit (112) which corrects the PTS by updating the correction amount of the PTS in the received video or audio at the timing determined by the PTS correction timing determining unit; and an audio-visual output unit (113) which outputs the received video and audio corresponding to the corrected PTS at the present time indicated by the audio-visual communication apparatus.</p> |
