The system has a platform-side detection device (7) for detecting boarding request of a passenger (2). A pre-indicator i.e. indicator lamp, is provided in a predetermined distance before the platform, viewed in a direction of travel, and is directly or indirectly connected with the detection device. The pre-indicator generates a holding signal i.e. visual signal, during detecting of the boarding request. The pre-indicator is fastened to a hold point panel (8). An independent claim is also included for a method for visual transmission of a boarding request of a passenger.
