The tool (1) has a processing tool (4) for processing a workpiece, and a disk-shaped tool holder (2) including tool holding fixtures (6) that are provided at a distance from each other. A frictional damper (7) is fastened to the holder in relation to the holding fixtures such that a dynamic friction is produced during relative movement of the holder against the damper between the holder and the damper, in order to damp the relative movement developed during processing of the workpiece with the processing tool held by the respective fixtures. An independent claim is also included for a method for processing a workpiece.
