<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constitution which can efficiently prevent failures occurring when a code mark can not be stored in an image forming region. <P>SOLUTION: A color laser printer 1 equivalent to an image forming device obtains print data from a computer 150 and confirms whether the code mark is included in the print data or not. When the code mark is included in the print data, the laser printer decides whether the code mark can be stored in a code mark forming region M1 or not, and the code mark, when judged, can not be stored in the code mark forming region M1, the edit of the code mark is performed.
