PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a tampon for pushing a tampon body outward suitably. SOLUTION: The tampon 10 comprising a tampon body 20, a cylindrical housing 40, wherein an opening is formed at the tip, for containing the tampon body 20 therein, and a pushing member capable of moving the tampon body within the cylindrical housing and thus pushing out the tampon body 20 from the cylindrical housing 40 through the opening, is characterized in that the cylindrical housing 40 is provided with ribs 54 formed in the inner face thereof along the longitudinal direction of the cylindrical housing 40.
