<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide modified particles with a reduced content of fine powders. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The modified particles are formed by bringing a compound of formula (1): ZnR<SP>1</SP><SB>2</SB>(wherein R<SP>1</SP>is hydrogen, a halogen or a hydrocarbon group and two R<SP>1</SP>s may be the same or different), a compound of formula (2): R<SP>2</SP><SB>t-1</SB>T<SP>1</SP>H (wherein T<SP>1</SP>is oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen or phosphorus, t is a number corresponding to the valence of T<SP>1</SP>), and R<SP>2</SP>is an electron-attracting group or a group containing an electron-attracting group and is the same or different in the case of a plurality of R<SP>2</SP>, and a compound of formula (3): R<SP>3</SP><SB>s-2</SB>T<SP>2</SP>H<SB>2</SB>(wherein T<SP>2</SP>is oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen or phosphorus; s is a number corresponding to the valence of T<SP>2</SP>; and R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrocarbon group) into contact with inorganic oxide particles or organic polymer particles and the average particle diameter is 40-100 μm, and the content of particles having a particle diameter of not greater than 30 μm is not more than 10 wt.% (provided that the total weight of the particles is taken as 100 wt.%).
