PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle with a grounding electrode in which whether or not a grounding wire is connected to a grounding terminal of the receptacle can be checked from a position easily seen on the insertion side of a plug to be inserted into the receptacle on every day base without a trouble and without requiring a commercial power supply upon its installation or the like, and when a fault is predicted in a grounding system, the comprehension of a failure point and analysis of its cause can be made promptly. SOLUTION: The receptacle 1 has, in its case, a grounding wire connection state checking means which discriminates whether the grounding wire is connected to the grounding terminal and outputs a determination signal and a checking state discrimination portion 31 which is connected to the grounding wire connection state checking means and changes the visual state of the discrimination portion according to the determination signal outputted. The checking state discrimination portion is so arranged that discrimination from a side where an insertion plug 2 is inserted with respect to a building material 40 is possible, and the discrimination of the checking state can be performed from the outside on the insertion side for inserting the insertion plug to the receptacle.
