<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce damages of an obstacle and a driver's own vehicle by sufficiently absorbing the shock energy. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a normal operation, a shock-absorbing member 11 is vertically stored in a leading part of a railroad vehicle 10. When an obstacle appears ahead of the railroad vehicle 10, and an air cylinder 12 is contracted, a slide link 22 is moved backwardly, a rotary link 21 is rotated, and the shock-absorbing member 11 is projected forwardly to absorb the shock energy during the collision.
