摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply, easily and inexpensively manufacture an electrode catalyst having sufficient catalyst activity and durability to the extent of being comparable to a so-called platinum noble metal electrode catalyst for a fuel cell without entirely using expensive platinum for an electrode catalyst component for the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: A porphyrin complex of cobalt, a carbon-based material and polyacid of tungsten (polytungstic acid) are mixed to prepare a precursor, and the resultant precursor is subjected to heat treatment within the range of temperatures of 500 to 600&deg;C, to manufacture the electrode catalyst for the fuel cell as an electrode catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
