PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a oligoolefin block-bearing new polyester or polycarbonate block copolymer, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The oligoolefin block-bearing polyester or polycarbonate block copolymer is obtained by transesterification between an oligoolefin having polar groups on both ends thereof and a polyester or polycarbonate. As such a copolymer includes in the single molecule two kinds of blocks well different in chemical structure from each other, the copolymer presents high compatibility.
