<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel economy by appropriately suppressing operation of an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle during stopping. <P>SOLUTION: When the hybrid vehicle is stopping after predicting that the hybrid vehicle stops over a predetermined time or longer, start determination residual capacity SOCref which is the residual capacity of a battery when starting an engine, is set smaller than a normal threshold SOC1 used during predetermined travel or the like. Consequently, even if the residual capacity SOC is degraded with the discharge of the battery during stopping, the start of the engine out of service is suppressed from a relationship between the residual capacity SOC and the start determination residual capacity SOCref. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
