Provided is an information service providing device that selects a sensor which can be used for realizing an information service to be provided among a plurality of sensors which can be used by the device. Moreover, the device selects an optimal one among the sensors which can be used in accordance with the environment in which the information service is realized and selects an appropriate parameter for a sensor and a processing program so that the information service is appropriately provided. The selected optimal sensor and the appropriate parameter are set. Furthermore, upon reception of a specification of a desired information service from a user, the information service providing device appropriately combines sensors of various types with a plurality of processing programs so as to provide various information services.
