A child seat for a vehicle, the child seat being provided with a backrest angle adjusting mechanism which has a means for preventing a backrest angle changing operation by a seated child, and the child seat being configured so that constituting parts do not cause harm to the child when the backrest is removed from the seat and that the parts can be prevented from being lost. A child seat for a vehicle, provided with a seat on which a child sits, a backrest which supports the back of the child, and a connection means for connecting the seat and the backrest. The connection means allows the backrest to be removably mounted to the seat and the backrest to be fixed relative to the seat at multiple angles. The child seat is also provided with a means for preventing a backrest angle changing operation by the seated child.
