PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save resources and energy by supplying appropriate paper even when a one-sided original and a double-sided original coexist. SOLUTION: An image area is detected from each of image data of a front surface and image data of a back surface read from each of mixed originals. When the image area is detected from the image data of the front surface and that of the back surface, both-surface unrecorded paper having paper size in accordance with the size of the detected image area is determined to be supplied. When the image area is detected from either of the image data of the front surface and that of the back surface, one-surface unrecorded paper having paper size in accordance with the size of the detected image area is determined to be supplied, and the determined paper supply information is stored as a paper supply schedule, and an image based on the read image data is formed on paper supplied based on the stored paper supply schedule.
